Document code: RJ-LS-21
Version: 1.0
Version date: 21 October 2026
Effective date: on publication
Issued by: Ralph Jacobs SA (Pty) Ltd (reg. 2019/101093/07), which operates our blog, ralphjacobs.blog
1. Who can send a story
You must be 18 or older. If you are telling a story about a piece someone else bought, or a moment that involves someone else, you need their agreement first (section 5).
2. Nothing is published without your consent
We publish your story only after you have completed our consent form and approved the final version. The form asks you to choose:
| Choice | Options |
|---|---|
| Your name | Your first name only · your full name · no name |
| Your face | Photographs that show your face · photographs of the piece and hands only |
| Where you are | Your country only · your town or city · nothing |
| Where we may publish | Our blog · our social media accounts · our newsletter |
We follow your choices exactly. We never publish your street address, where you work, where you will be, or anything that shows where your jewellery is kept.
3. What we never publish
- What you paid, when you bought, your order details, or anything from your account.
- That someone bought you a piece, unless the buyer has agreed. Your purchase is private (Privacy Notice section 6A).
- The face of a child.
- A photograph or post before you have your piece, or that shows you are travelling or away from home.
4. Your words and photographs
You keep the copyright in what you send us. You give Ralph Jacobs SA (Pty) Ltd a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to publish your story and photographs in the places you chose on the form, and to let Ralph Jacobs NZ Limited share them on its channels for the same purpose. The licence ends when you withdraw (section 7).
We may edit your story for length, clarity and spelling, and crop or adjust photographs. We will not change what your story means, and we will send you the final version to approve before it goes live.
Only send photographs you took, or have permission to use. You confirm that what you send is true and does not break anyone else’s rights.
5. Other people
If another person can be recognised in your photographs, or is named in your story, they must agree before we publish. Tell us on the form, and we may ask them to confirm. If they have not agreed, we will crop, blur or leave them out.
6. No payment, and honest stories
We do not pay for stories, and we do not offer discounts or gifts in exchange for them. If we ever do, we will say so next to the story. We publish stories as you tell them: we do not invent stories, and we do not only publish the positive ones.
7. Changing your mind
You can withdraw your consent at any time by e-mailing privacy@ralphjacobs.org. We will take your story and photographs off our blog, social media accounts and newsletter archive within 5 working days, and we will not use them again.
We cannot recall a newsletter already sent, or posts that other people have shared or copied, but we will remove everything we control.
8. Your personal information
Ralph Jacobs SA (Pty) Ltd is responsible for the information you send with your story. We use it to publish your story as you agreed, to contact you about it, and to keep a record of your consent. We do not use it for marketing unless you separately sign up. We keep your consent form for as long as the story is published and for 3 years afterwards, to show what you agreed. The Privacy Notice sets out your rights.
9. Your rights are not affected
These terms do not affect your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, the Protection of Personal Information Act or the law of your country. If anything here conflicts with those rights, the law applies.
10. Contact
- Withdrawal, privacy and takedown: privacy@ralphjacobs.org
- Anything else about the blog: feedback@ralphjacobs.org

Every version of these terms is kept at ralphjacobs.org/versions/.
Every legal publication issued by Ralph Jacobs, grouped by category. Each entry shows its current version, status and effective date. Superseded and withdrawn versions are retained permanently and stay reachable at their original addresses, so a version you accepted or downloaded in the past can still be read and verified.
