1. Purpose
This Policy governs courtesy photographs, videos, CAD renders, progress updates, pre-delivery visuals, social media previews and production communications.
If you are buying from outside South Africa, read this together with Where We Sell and Who You Buy From.
Ralph Jacobs may host storefront, blog or campaign media on ralphjacobs.media or on third-party platform media systems. Media hosting does not change the customer contract, legal hub, privacy rights, copyright position, consent requirements or product-description obligations.
2. Courtesy nature
Production media is supplied as a courtesy unless Ralph Jacobs expressly agrees that a specific photograph, video or render is part of the formal product specification.
Lighting, scale, screen settings, camera lens, reflections, magnification, unfinished surfaces, hand-finishing and natural stone variation may affect appearance.
A CAD render is a computer picture of the design, and a finished hand-made piece will differ from it in small details. A zoomed-in or magnified photograph is not the standard we judge finish by. See Bespoke and Custom Jewellery section 4A and Warranty and Care section 6A.
3. Not final inspection
Production media is not a substitute for final inspection, quality control, statutory remedies or warranty assessment.
We will not treat progress photographs or videos as proof that an item is free of defects if you raise a genuine concern about it.
4. Customer approvals
When we ask you to approve a design, CAD render, engraving, layout, stone or a specific production decision, we tell you clearly what you are approving and what may still change through finishing. If an approval request is not clear to you, ask us before you approve it.
5. Confidentiality and sharing
Customers should not treat behind-the-scenes production media as permission to reproduce Ralph Jacobs processes, designs or confidential information. Ralph Jacobs may request that sensitive production media not be shared publicly.
6. Social media
Ralph Jacobs may use production or finished-goods media for marketing only where lawful and consistent with the Privacy Notice, POPIA, New Zealand Privacy Act, Australian Privacy Act/Spam Act where applicable, GDPR/UK GDPR where applicable, customer consent requirements, confidentiality and any agreed privacy restrictions.
We only publish media we are entitled to publish — our own production material, licensed material, or material a customer has agreed we may use. If you believe something of yours has been published without your agreement, email privacy@ralphjacobs.org and we will take it down while we check.
Every legal publication issued by Ralph Jacobs, grouped by category. Each entry shows its current version, status and effective date. Superseded and withdrawn versions are retained permanently and stay reachable at their original addresses, so a version you accepted or downloaded in the past can still be read and verified.
